There are plumeria trees in India. The one across the street from the bedroom window started to bloom two weeks ago and then the rain came and since then there haven't been more than a dozen blossoms at a time. We are so much a part of the city even though we have only been here a bit more than a month. Last night Bob picked up a couple of things at the tiny neighborhood market and introduced himself to a young man buying bread. Pointing to our building he said, "We live there." "I know," was the man's answer. We are the minority and we are not anonymous. Everyday we are the only ones we see with blue eyes, but are we lonesome? We miss friends and family of course and think about and pray for all of you, but we are not lonesome. One moment an Indian man will be staring at you and the next minute he is returning your smile. If you go far away from home, India is a good choice.

We just planted some Plumeria in our backyard. I miss the big trees at our old house.
It is great to hear about your neighborhood.
Hi Mom and Dad,
I am sitting on the floor of the living room in front of a fire. It is grey and cloudy here today and it is a nice to have a day to be cozy and at home. I love the picture of the plumeria. They are one of my favorite flowers and I associate so many memories with them. I think I first noticed this flower when Sally and Karen and I were in Hawaii with Grandma Doris for Heather's wedding. Grandma always loved the smell of plumerias. And mom you always had great success getting them to grow in California. Now my mind goes to memories of climbing the tree in front of Liz's old house with Kai. Did you know that we will be with Liz for Christmas and that Jenny is coming too? I am very excited to be there and am having a little trouble tolerating my work life in the meantime. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I miss you and think about you all the time and I am still adjusting to you being so far away. It's funny but even though I have lived on my own for so long I still liked having you close by. I hope all is well with both of you. I am so happy you are following this dream and I am proud of your courage. Lots of love, Chris
I found your blog through Jack and Jaime...hope you don't mind a few more fans!
