This first group of elephants were doing something that we didn't figure out until we spotted the other group at the end of the day. The elephant on the right is best poised to see how they take one foot and scrape the ground to get roots to eat. These elephants and one more were also about to move in to protect a baby behind the second elephant on the right. They all started backing up until they had formed a "star" with the baby hid from sight in the middle of the cluster..
